We will be hiring in the future, pending funds, for the following:
- Researchers: assistant, standard, and senior
The Inframatter Research Center is a nonprofit organization established to fund research into sub-atomic matter at a fundamental level, and provide to the public education about our results. All persons working with and for this organization agree to offer the results of their efforts while so employed to the public in a timely manner without further compensation. All efforts done under this contract should be considered as “Work for Hire” under the laws of the United States and the state of Wisconsin in which the organization is located. Persons working on behalf of the organization outside of the state of Wisconsin are further restricted by the local laws in effect, except where they are in conflict with US laws, in which case US laws are assumed to hold. Additionally, all persons working for and with this organization are required to read our statement of purpose and agree to comply with its terms. Persons working for the organization shall not disparage the organization or any other person working for it.
Anyone hired by the organization should list current and previous publications and research in progress so credit can be accessed in case of future disagreement. Regular reports as to progress of research must be provided in writing in a timely fashion. Persons who contribute to published work will have the opportunity to receive credit for the work they contributed, but may choose to remain anonymous. Bonuses will be awarded for getting work published in peer-reviewed journals.
Inframatter Research Center Job Roles
1) Research Assistant. This job is responsible for proofreading articles, and assisting the other research staff. It is normally a part time position, typically held by a grad student or recent grad. Certain assistants will be permitted to do original research under the close supervision of a more senior researcher.
2) Standard Researcher. This job is responsible for original research under the guidance of a senior researcher. Minimum education is a Master’s in Physics or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience.
3) Senior Researcher. This job is responsible for doing original research and guiding the research efforts of others. Minimum education is a Master’s in Physics or related field, plus 10 years of professional experience, at least 3 in a supervisory role.
All researchers are expected to peer review the work product of other researchers in the organization. Persons routinely receiving below average reviews are subject to disciplinary procedures including reduction in status, reduction in pay, and dismissal from service. Persons failing to provide peer review will similarly be subject to these disciplinary actions. Senior researchers will peer review each of their subordinates work, the work of each of the other senior researchers, and at least 3 randomly selected researchers work each quarter. Standard researchers will peer review each of the other researchers working under their senior researcher, their senior researchers work, and at least 3 randomly selected researchers work from outside their work group each quarter. Research assistants will review the work of each of the senior researchers, and 3 randomly selected other researchers. Minimum review standards will be relaxed if there are less than 3 researchers outside the work group for the random portion only.
Variance on minimum experience may be authorized by the president on a case-by-case basis.
